French American School of Chicago: A Bicultural school

 

The French American School, Chicago, is considered as the erstwhile school that was established in 1981. This school is educationally and socially benefitted as it runs with the help of the collaboration of LPHS, EFAC, and ALES. It teaches the language and cultural aspects of both America and France. The French American School teaches the language and culture of both America and France.



The Admission Criteria

The admission criteria for getting entrance into the French American school program are as follows:

·         The parents need to be residing within the neighborhood boundaries of the school. The name of the child must be registered in ALE and ALPs.

·         An interview with the director of students has been taken to assess the students' proficiency in French.

·         Availability of the seats in the particular division or grades.

Different Grades of French Schools:

Learning in French in Chicago has the facilities for the following grades in the schools:

Kindergarten:

Children Join Kindergarten class just before the year of compulsory education at the age of six. In this grade, by correcting the language skills, Children learn the basics of writing in math and in other areas of Learning in French in Chicago

Elementary School

This grade of the school covers the whole curriculum of America. The students learn French, three hours daily and for five days a week. Students study science in the US section and also other subjects from various programs.

Middle School:

In this grade of the school, the students are specialized in French Language, geography, literature, and history. They also take part in cultural and artistic projects by collaborating with other schools around the world.    

High School:

It is one of the most famous French Schools in Chicago. As the French class is integrated into the French curriculum in Chicago, students join the class once a day.
